SERVPRO Has Industry Leading Water Pumps for Extraction and Mitigation for New Orleans Properties

The Best Choice For Water Removal In New Orleans

Flooding brings to mind major disasters with broken dams and entire neighborhoods under water. Despite these visuals, as painful as they can be, many homeowners and residents can suffer just as much damage and incur as much of a repair and restoration bill from failed plumbing like a ruptured sink pipe or a water heater with a faulty high-pressure release switch.

Regardless of the source, water removal is a recurring event for many New Orleans residents. That is why customers return to SERVPRO for their needs. They know that each of our technicians trains on the latest equipment and stays updated on the best methods to help our neighbors return to a dry, safe home once again.

Once they turn off the water at the main or the point of failure and depending on the level of water, our removal teams begin with a commercial grade pump for higher amounts. We also have portable submersible pumps for two or more inches of water depth. Depending on the size of the home, team members can use machines that plug directly into the home’s electrical service or into one of the generators we keep in our inventory. For large homes, condos, and apartments, we also have a truck-mounted pump that can operate 24/7 if needed.

For lower amounts that cover the surface, SERVPRO technicians switch to smaller, extraction devices that work very efficiently to draw water out of carpets and wooden floors. We can set up drying mats which draw water efficiently from the joints of boards. For small rooms and closets, they can use a device that looks similar to a vacuum cleaner. Our team members can adjust the rate of airflow and amount of heat in these wands to ensure they do not cause any secondary harm to the carpets or floors as they draw out the water trapped inside.

Carpet pads, however, quickly deteriorate once they begin to soak up water. If the water remained on the carpet overnight, we recommend lifting the carpet and replacing the pad immediately after completing the extraction process.

At SERVPRO of North Kenner, Harahan & Lakeview, our goal is to help each of our neighbors and friends return to a home that looks just like it did before the disaster, no matter how large or small. If any part of your home is or has been underwater, call us today at (504) 468-3046 to help make it right.
